- Complete and accurate information of both pledgor and pledgee must match MCD records.
- The pledgor must be the legal owner of the securities to be pledged.
- The pledgee must be a legal entity.
- The pledgee is the applicant and is solely responsible before MCD for all resulting obligations and liabilities.
- The pledgee must verify the authorization and identity of the pledgor.
- The pledgor’s approval is considered a declaration that no legal restrictions prevent pledging the securities.
- Pledge requests must be submitted electronically via the MCD website.
- Service fees must be paid after the initial approval of the pledge.

Conditions for Releasing a Securities Pledge:
- Complete and accurate data of the pledgor and pledgee must match MCD records.
- The pledgee is the applicant and remains responsible before MCD for all resulting obligations.
- The release request must be approved by the authorized signatories of the pledgee, in accordance with the bank's authorization policy, specifying the type of authorization (joint or single).
- Release requests must be submitted electronically via the MCD website.
- Service fees must be paid after the initial approval of the release.

Required Documents:
A duly signed and certified Pledge Agreement by both the pledgor and pledgee, including the following:
- Name of the securities issuer.
- Shareholder name / ID number.
- Number of securities to be pledged.
- A declaration from the pledgee confirming the authenticity of signatures and accepting responsibility for any discrepancies.
- Copies of personal ID cards for individuals.
- Copies of commercial registration and authorized signatory documents for legal entities.
- If the pledgee is a legal entity based outside Oman, all registration documents must be apostilled or certified by the Omani Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the pledgee's country.
- If the pledgee is an Omani institution and the pledgor is a foreign entity: For legal entities, registration documents must be certified as above; for individuals, a copy of the passport with the signature page must be attached. The pledgee assumes full responsibility for verifying signatures.
- A pledge may be placed on securities already pledged with a higher priority, provided written approval is obtained from all previous pledgees.
- The pledgee must have a beneficiary account registered in the system.
