The Securities Lien Service is one of the key services provided by the Muscat Clearing and Depository Company (MCD) as part of its wide range of post-trade services. Securities may be subject to a lien or have a lien released in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations in the Sultanate of Oman, based on orders issued by judicial or competent legislative authorities. The lien or its release is executed upon request from concerned parties and after fulfilling the necessary requirements, thereby ensuring the protection of rights and enhancing investor confidence in the Omani capital market.
Required Documents for Lien/Release of Securities (Founders' Shares):
A letter from the issuer expressing its desire to list the securities with Muscat Clearing and Depository.
Listing decision from the stock exchange.
Minutes of the company’s Founding General Assembly Meeting (if applicable).
The prospectus.
The company’s Articles of Association.
Required Documents for Lien/Release of Securities (By Judicial or Legislative Order):
A lien/release letter from the judicial or legislative authority, sent via email to: lien@mcd.om
Required Documents for Lien/Release of Securities (Insurance Reserve Based on Order from the Financial Services Authority):
A letter from the insurance company specifying the type of lien and the number of shares.
A copy of the company’s commercial registration.
A copy of the IDs of the authorized signatories.
